Downtown Restaurants, Wineries, and Tasting Rooms Declare Downtown Yakima a "Corkage Free Zone" - 2009-10-06
Restaurants, Wineries, and Tasting Rooms declared Downtown Yakima a Corkage Free Zone.
Downtown Restaurants will waive corkage fees when wine is purchased at one of the Downtown Wineries or Tasting Rooms (Gilbert Cellars, Kana Winery, Tim's Downtown Tasting Room, Plaza Socievole, Donitelia Winery, and Stems).
Corkage fees are fees charged by restaurants to customers who bring their own bottles of wine into a restaurant, and these fees typically range between $7.00 to $20.00. Under this new program, anyone will be able to buy a bottle of wine at a downtown Yakima wine tasting room and bring it across the street into a downtown Yakima restaurant, providing that they show the purchase receipt for their wine. This program will only be valid for same-day purchases.
Participating restaurants: Barrelhouse, Café Melange, Carousel French Cuisine, Depot, Golden Wheel, Greystone, Libby's at the Red Lion, Santiago's, Second Street Grill, the Great American Grill, Sports Center, Russillo's, Tequila's, Tony's Steakhouse.
