Memorial Day kicks off summer downtown - 2009-05-28
I love Memorial Day because it always seems to be the summer kick-off! Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the Ambassadors put up the Flower Baskets and started planting landscape throughout town.
This year, the Ambassadors put up approximately 325 flower baskets throughout the district, which is more than Seattle and Portland have in their downtowns!
This coming week, landscaping was finished on 2nd and Naches as a part of the Phase 3 revitalization program. In the oncoming weeks, nearly 2500 flowers will be planted in the pots and beds throughout downtown.
The next time you are out for a walk this summer, head downtown and see all of the beautiful work that has been done by our Ambassadors.
