Belu Design - 2009-02-11

When I arrived at Belu Design, I was greeted by Kristeen, one of the co-owners of the salon. “First, I’ll give you a tour. Everyone that comes in gets a tour.” I wasn’t sure what to expect as we rounded the corner, but what I had seen from just peeking in the windows did not do it justice.

We entered the Hair Design and Styling Area. The stations are shared by all of the stylists. Each station complements the sleek black mirrors with futuristic suspended blow dryers, which hang from the ceiling and turn on as soon as they are pulled towards the client.

Kristeen then showed me the interactive Tool Bar where customers can come and try out the hair styling products and tools. She explained that they want customers to be happy when they leave the salon with their new products.

Then Kristeen introduced me to the other owner of Belu, Chris. The two owners laughed at each other after realizing their almost identical outfits. All of the stylists wear black, making them a little hard to miss!

We headed over to the Color Bar. They want to make hair styling an interactive process, where the customers are able to watch their stylist mix the color. The Color Bar is set up with styling chairs, a mixing station, and bar stools, so that any guests can sit and watch.

As I left the salon, I made my first appointment at Belu. The salon sold itself, and I knew that after meeting Chris and Kristeen, I would be back many times, and I have. I suggest the next time you are in need of a pick me up or new ‘do, you remember that, “Celebrating A Beautiful You,” like it states on the website, can be tons of fun!
