A Big Weekend Downtown - 2008-09-30
You are invited to downtown Yakima for what will be one of the biggest weekends of the year. It all kicks off Friday night with Downtown First Fridays which coincides with the opening of the Capitol Theatre's 2008-2009 Best of Broadway Series which features the East Village Opera Company. I've got some simple advice for you, come downtown early and make a night out of it. Before the show, pop into Kana Winery to enjoy the John and Jeff Adventure band and enjoy a few good tunes and a glass of wine or pop into Plaza Socievole and enjoy live music with Gentlemen wild and some good food. Beer fans? Get your early start with a special beer dinner at either Bob's Keg and Cork, the Sportscenter or the Burhmaster Bakery. This is one delicate delight you certainly won't want to miss. Of course, all of this is to get you ready for the 6th Annual Fresh Hop Ale Festival on Saturday night at millenium plaza across the street from the Capitol Theatre. And, yes, if you missed it Friday, the East Village Opera Company will be back at the Capitol Theatre on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and again at 7:30 p.m.
