First Friday, It's The Fashionable Thing To Do - 2008-09-04

This Friday, join us in downtown Yakima as we prove once again that First Friday is the fashionable thing to do. The evening starts with the Season to Change Fashion Show being held on Front Street. This is a ticketed event, but your price of admission not only goes to help finish a homeless youth home just south of downtown, but you’ll also get a show full of fall fashions from Garden Dance, Carly Holtzinger and other retailers. Best of all, you’ll have the opportunity to soak up the vibrant Front Street business district which includes two new places you may have not been yet: Gilbert Cellars and the Northtown Coffee House.

Once you are done on Front Street, head down to Kana Winery for live music with John Eakin and Jeff Hoppis and then stop in Plaza Socievole for live music with Gentlemen Wild. Your back a little sore? Stop into Ummelina for free chair massages, tours and taste of their herbal teas. Ah late night? Cap off your First Friday with a grooving night at the Sportscenter where the Yogoman Burning Band will hold court at 9:00 p.m. and energize you with their reggae and horn infused sounds. Like always, there are plenty of fun things going on downtown; all that’s missing is you!
